Revolute-leafed cordia, laurelillo
Revolute-leafed cordia is native to the Galápagos Islands. The description here is based on photos I took, and I cannot locate enough documentation to confirm the ID, so beware.
Plants: A shrub or small tree.
Leaves: Alternate, linear, with gently crenate edges and sharp tips. Each leaf is 1–4″ long ⨉ ¼–½″ wide (2.5–10 cm ⨉ 6.3–12 mm), somewhat wider at the base and tapering slowly to the tip. Leaves appear to have rough surfaces due to short stiff hairs.
Flowers: Racemes of white flowers appear at branch tips, containing about 12-24 flowers. Each flower is about ¼″ (6.3 mm) in diameter, on a pedicel about ¼″ (6.3 mm) long.
Fruits: Ovoid fruits are about ⅜ ⨉ ½″ (9.5 mm ⨉ 1.3 cm), and medium brown.
Habitats: The seasonally dry tropical biome.
