Dryopteris goldieana (Hook. ex Goldie) A. Gray Goldie’s wood fern
Goldie’s wood fern is native to North America. Identification: This fern has large, arching, bright green fronds, 14-47" (35-119 cm) long, 6-16" (15-40 cm) wide. Each blade is roughly oval in shape, tapering quickly to a sharp, often pale green tip. Stems have long, pointed, dark brown to black scales, a distinguishing feature. The sori (dot-like reproductive structures on the leaf undersides) are spaced evenly and near the midvein. Online References:
